History & Values

Find out more about the origins of Rohleder, our philosophy and the values that have shaped our work for generations.

Since 1946

The history of Rohleder began in 1946 in Konradsreuth, Upper Franconia. At that time, it was a traditional weaving mill in a region regarded as a stronghold of the textile industry. Today, we are an internationally active high-tech manufacturer – yet we are still here, still family-owned, and still committed to quality.

80 years of experience go into every metre of fabric. This wealth of expertise is invaluable – and one of the reasons why we can produce what others cannot.

What sets us apart

From the very beginning, Rohleder has stood for uncompromising quality. This commitment has seen us through crises, structural change and times when many other weaving mills gave up. We have persevered – because we believe in our location, in our people and in the future of textile craftsmanship in Germany.

Christoph Häußler and Matthias Hanitzsch have been jointly managing the company since 2023. With Leni Rohleder, daughter of the owner Klaus Rohleder, a third-generation family member is carrying on the tradition. This continuity provides reassurance – to our customers, our employees and our partners.

Our values

These values are non-negotiable. They are the reason why Rohleder has been successful for over 80 years – and why we look to the future with confidence.

Quality
We are committed to uncompromising quality. Every metre of fabric undergoes rigorous testing and is produced using carefully selected materials with the utmost precision.

Team spirit
All departments work closely together. We don’t have silos; instead, we have interdisciplinary collaboration on an equal footing.

Sustainability
As Europe’s first climate-neutral weaving mill for interior fabrics, we are committed to environmental responsibility – and equally to our role as an employer, providing above-average benefits and long-term perspectives.

Passion
We love textiles. You can feel that passion – in every conversation, in every fabric, in every detail.
